For many years Paul
had admired the 600 year old abandoned hunting lodge,
wondering how it could have been so forgotten. The playground
of vandals for many decades the house had become a monument
to neglect. Then out of the blue the opportunity arose
for him to do something about it.
The next few years were spent on totally restoring Alcester
Lodge. Replacing roofs, windows walls and adding gas,
electricity, a reed-bed sewage system and running water,
the lodge is now a family home. All this thanks to the
hard work put in by Paul and his father Ken. Every aspect
of the project personally carried out by them.
The next stage was to save the medieval barns and put
them to sympathetic use. Some were lost forever while
waiting for the complicated process of numerous planning
applications. Wrangles with conservation architects,
listed building advisers and local councils added to
the long delays. Once again Paul and his father have
tastefully restored and saved the precious buildings
and created in excess of 100 job opportunities.
